Don’t take it from us, hear what our previous guests have to say about Plakias Panorama!

We had a great time in Plakias!

The best thing for us was the tips on where to go in your guide. When you only have a week away you don’t want to make mistakes and we agreed with all your recommendations.

Having Andy there was a super bonus. Such a kind hearted man and he seemed so happy to help. (Esp when we locked ourselves out of the app one night!). We felt we had a friend there.

Mitch and I enjoyed our early morning swims at the beach followed by fresh figs and peaches with greek yoghurt, walnuts and local honey sat in the little terrace off the main bedroom. A visit to the bakery for some spinach and cheese tasty bites for nibbling on the beach later and we were in heaven!

Oh, the tupperware box in the kitchen was brilliant for taking to the beach with hunks of fresh watermelon! Little things like that make all the difference.

It was great to arrive at a modern fully-equipped apartment, in an immaculately clean complex. We enjoyed taking the short stroll to the wide variety of resturants, bars, and beaches! We will certainly be returning for another wonderful holiday. Thanks!

We had a fabulous time in Plakias – definitely helped by the quality of this
modern, well equipped apartment and its position 5 to 10 minutes walk from the
village centre and from the fabulous beach.

I can’t say enough about how much my wife Maggie and I enjoyed our 10 days
here at the end of September, beginning of October 2010. We enjoyed it so much
we immediately booked again to stay in the apartment in August/September this
year and we are counting down the days to when we will be there again.

We were lucky that the weather was fantastic for 9 of the 10 days we were in
Plakias, and were able to enjoy the facilities of Plakias and the surrounding area
beaches with our hire car. I would say that when staying here a hire car is a must
to make sure you enjoy what the whole area has to offer.

One of the many benefits that staying in Rowena’s and Carl’s apartment is the
brilliant help and guidance given by Rowena and Carl on flights, car hire etc –
it’s like having your own personal travel agent/courier. There was even our own
personal guide Andy, waiting for us on arrival and he gave us the orientation tour
and a glass of welcoming Retsina!

The information pack in the apartment really gives one a picture of the area and
what to expect when visiting places and beaches. The beach nearby at Souda Bay
was one of our favourites. There are many excellent restaurants/tavernas and we
couldn’t really pick a favourite one out but maybe after our second visit this year
we will do!

We had a fantastic time, thank you. Plakias is perfect and so relaxing!

We didn’t have a bad meal and were amazed at how cheap it was – especially the wine !!  Sifi even gave us a present of home grown olive oil on our last night!!  We can see why you love it there so much.

Best cars were brilliant too, in fact, the best care hire company we have ever used.  They were there to greet us, had the car waiting outside and were very informative on where to go.

All the information you provided was brilliant, particularly about the various beaches.  We referred to it a lot when we couldn’t think of where to go.

Thanks once again for introducing us to the wonderful Plakias where we are already planning our holiday for next year!!!

We had a fantastic holiday, thank you.  Andy’s welcoming tour and beer was a great start. The children loved the pool and visited everyday at least once.

The apartment was lovely and spacious and the kitchen fully equipped thanks & the extra sun beds came in very handy!

Tried several of the tavernas you recommended both in Plakias and further afield, had particularly good meals/service at Mapiou and the new one overlooking the bay.  Enjoyed ‘On the Rocks’ and visited your Hotel for people watching nearly every evening (the owner is so lovely!).

Drove everywhere including up into the mountains for some fresh air and bird watching. A visit to Antonio gorge was very enjoyable.  Preveli steps nearly killed us tho!

Overall a brilliant holiday and we really hope we can come back one day to experience a different season.

You might think holidaying in Crete in Feb/March for 5 weeks would mean that apartments may not be set up for winter breaks. Not so with Rowena’s apartment. Warm bedding, under floor heating, a large tank with loads of piping hot water and a kitchen fully equipped to produce hot meals greeted us on our dramatic arrival, a day of unprecedented storms and flooding. We were cosy and warm as we waited out the weather. The weather cleared and the front patio was flooded with sunshine.

Within a 10 minute walk the restaurants, bars and supermarkets that remain open in the ‘off’ season are used by locals and all the better for it.

At this cooler time of year, the walks and spring flowers are breath taking. We did two walks a day and became very fit. Take good walking shoes to protect your ankles on the mountain paths.

The beaches are empty and the sea a gorgeous 16oC for swimming, however the locals will think you are barmy. We have concluded that Spring is THE time to visit Crete.
